WHAT WE DO

Gather. Grow. Go.

We gather together on Sunday mornings for corporate worship and to encourage one another, we grow together in circles throughout the week where we practice serving one another in love, and then we go into the places where we live, learn, work and play in our daily lives to be the hands and feet of Jesus to serve and engage our community. This cycle – gathering as people of faith, growing in our faith and relationship with Christ, and then going into the world as mature disciples to disciple others – forms our spiritual practice.

PART OF A MOVEMENT

We are affiliated with the Church of God movement, a faith tradition originating from Anderson, Indiana, as part of the larger Wesleyan Holiness Movement that started in the late 1800s and continues today to form dedicated followers of Jesus who embrace the transformative work of God in their lives and in their communities.

The two core tenets of the movement are unity and holiness. Unity is crucial for us:  it means that our affiliation is not to one church or denomination, but to God. In practice, that means that different faith traditions can meet here and find common ground as we seek to love God, serve each other, and fulfill the Great Commission together. The other vital aspect is holiness, which develops from the Holy Spirit’s work within us, changing us so that we produce the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5) in our lives – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. While we may not be perfect, the Spirit helps us to grow and become more like Jesus. That’s the goal!
